Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect only what's necessary to operate the site and respond to you. Specifically:

  • Quiz answers: never sent to our servers. They are computed in your browser and stored only in your browser's sessionStorage for the length of the session.
  • Email address: only if you submit one to receive a printable symptom summary. We store your email plus the page you submitted from and a timestamp.
  • Truncated IP hash: used to enforce a rate limit on the email-capture endpoint. We never store your raw IP address.
  • Page-view analytics: via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Cloudflare Web Analytics.

What we do not collect

  • Quiz answers (computed locally only)
  • Symptom history
  • Any personally identifying information beyond email
  • Health information you have not voluntarily submitted

Third parties

We use the following third parties:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, web analytics, and bot challenge (Turnstile).
  • Google Analytics 4 — page-view and funnel analytics, cookieless / consent-default-deny configuration.
  • Cloudflare Images — image delivery.
  • Google AdSense — advertisement placement (when enabled). AdSense may set advertising cookies. You can opt out of personalized ads at Google's Ads Settings.

Your rights

If we have your email and you would like it removed, send an email to [email protected] — we will delete it within 30 days.

California residents (and residents of other US states with consumer-health-data laws) have additional rights to know what we have, request deletion, and opt out. We honor those requests via the same email.

Cookies

The site does not set first-party cookies. Third parties (GA4, AdSense) may set their own cookies under their respective policies.

Children

The PeriGuide is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 16.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if appropriate, notify you via the site.
